2: Story (Chronological)

2.0: Players wake up in a cave, with a door in front of them. They need to do a performance to open the door, as instructed.

2.1: The players are left to explore the clearing, playing around more with how the world changes based on how many of their songs are present. Eventually the players find a cave with a workbench (1.2 and 3.3) and a visor (1.3 and 3.4) in it, as well as a door that, unlike the first, has no handle to pull. Guiding the players will be a cave painting (3.0) which depicts a Song Puppet wearing a visor, with the visor projecting some cone of vision as the wearer looks at a button (1.0). Lastly, next to the workbench is a Song Puppet wearing a visor. This visor can be pulled off of the Song Puppet if grabbed, and then attached to a player at a work bench. Once this is done, the player wearing the visor will be able to see a button while wearing the visor, and that button can be pushed to open the door, exiting from the small cave into another clearing.

2.2: In the clearing, the players will be allowed to explore freely, with some hidden objects which are only visible with the visor, but are generally not important. This clearing will also be littered with dead Song Puppets who have been buried by the gradual cycle of the dirt. The most notable thing in this clearing will be a cave painting on a wall of nearby cliffs, depicting Song Puppets hiding underground as meteors fall from the sky. Near the cave painting, likely in a position where the players will notice the painting before continuing, is a cave entrance.

2.3: The cave is deep and dark, at the end of it the players will see a flickering light which is intended to guide them ahead. When the players arrive at this light, they find a workbench, a set of lights, a Song Puppet who’s dead and whose flickering lights guided them to it, and a cave painting depicting a song puppet covered in lightbulbs illuminating a dark area. Once the players attach the lights to one of themselves, by holding the coil of lights and a wrench near that player’s body, that player will act as a light source, allowing them to see arrows on the walls guiding them out.

2.4: The next clearing that the players exit out into is a small one with a large tree, a rapidly running river with a bridge that has been eroded by time, and a painting on a nearby wall depicting a Song Puppet on a bridge to cross water, which has a skull and crossbones in it. The tree can be grabbed and pushed/pulled by players, causing it to fall over and form a bridge that they can use to cross the river.

2.5: Once the players are across the river, they’re in a small clearing that can be explored, and most notably, a staircase around a mountain, circling up and up to the top. At the top of the mountain, an arrow will appear to prompt the players to look up and see the sky lighting up as a blindingly bright spot grows nearer and nearer. The screen fades black, with a plain ‘The End’ presenting on screen.
